Review: Finally! A great mac and cheese! Well, shells and cheese, but still great. The flavor was fantastic, it was super-creamy, and had a medium sharpness to it. I’ve tried the small and large sizes. The small is a better way to go. There’s just too much of it in the large size and the only downside is the 7-minute test which I’ll get to later. Judging the small-size however, the pasta was nice and tender and it tasted like it was homemade almost. The only downside of it is that it’s not freshly made. I saw that it’s packaged and they just heat up the package. They lose a point or two for it not being made fresh for a restaurant and zapping it in the microwave, but it’s still fantastic and I encourage everyone to try it.
Aftertaste: Fantastic. I get it almost ever time I go to Panera and enjoy it well after. The aftertaste mixes in really well with the Bacon Turkey Bravo I always get.
7 minute test: Because of the microwave, the large size suffers over time. They give it to you very very hot, but since the dish is not cooked to order, it gets rubbery if left out too long and cools very quickly once served. By the time I got to the end of the large it wasn’t as good.
